Just 57.61km to go until I hit my 2015 goal of running 3000km.
I have 16 days to go and I’m now well ahead of target.Last week was a big push to get back up to speed. 160km last week hasn’t actually drained me and my legs too much so another 57ish this week and I’ll be done. Challenge Complete. In fact I think I’ll go and do 15 miles later today.
Oh and I have new trainers; I’m sure you’ve all had that feeling of wanting to try new trainers but you just don’t want stop wearing the old ones. Well, I needed new ones, but to keep my trust in the old, I went for the same. The Adidas Ultra Boost… but in Teal, Pink and Red. Love them. Would recommend to anyone. The old yellow paid lasted about 650miles before I started to get niggles. A more thorough review of these is coming shortly. (something to write over the Christmas break)
I plan to give myself 2 weeks off, (well not entirely), I’ll still be donning the trainers almost every day, but more to keep the legs in shape than put in any hard miles. So Christmas is coming, the end of a long tough year but it has been… words can’t really describe how great it’s been to boost my running ability, knock off several minutes for most PB’s… Oh and there’s the fact that I started the year with no online presence, now I have close to 2000 followers supporting my running. I’ve also made some great friends, who no doubt will continue to be for years to come. I huge shout out to the running community and everyone involved in putting races together. In 2 years time I hope to hold, 2 world records, have multiple wins to my name, and obviously batter down the PB’s. I’ll cover off more end of year highlights next time but here’s a few snippets stats to wet your appetite: (stats from November)
Since my last post I’ve been following my strict training program, with rest days and harder 20 mile days; although If I’m honest the 20 mile days aren’t hard any more, they just take time out of the day. Normal people like me have to work too, I’m fortunate enough to be able to work around my running to a degree but fitting in 20 or 30 miles in a day, while working 7 hours a day too is hard going.
Here’s a few pics from my runs lately, as you can see there’s been plenty of rainy dark mornings and evenings, but still beautiful:
My sites at the moment are very much set on the future. You’ll see to the right, the list of multiple races I’ll be attempting next year…
I’d ask for all your support in 2016. There’s a lot to come.
Next blog post in just 15 days, when I will be running the last kilometre with friends and family on new years eve.
Please remember that, yes I love running, but I’m also trying to raise close to £50,000 for charity, take a look at my charities page for more details… or please donate through just giving.
